Bargain country and coastal homes for sale, but there’s a tiny catch

If you’re looking for a sea- or tree-change lifestyle offering seclusion, land or proximity to the beach there are some relative bargains to be found – if you’re prepared to live small.

As the tiny home movement continues to grow in popularity, not only are they viewed as a potentially lucrative investment but PropTrack Anne Flaherty said that for many people, the key attraction of tiny homes is their affordability.

“With home prices and rents rising rapidly, many are looking for more affordable options,” she explained.

“They also tend to be more energy efficient than traditional housing, which further reduces costs and may appeal to those looking to reduce their environmental impact.”

Flexibility is another benefit of tiny homes, she said, which are often designed to be movable, giving the owner the flexibility to relocate if need be.

Though despite the advantages, there are also some challenges associated with owning tiny homes that buyers should consider.

“These include zoning regulations which limit the number of locations which allow for these homes, as well as building codes which need to be satisfied,” Ms Flaherty said.

If you’re seeking out a sea- or tree-change of the tiny persuasion – or perhaps a new business venture or side hustle – there are some enticing and affordable tiny home opportunities currently on the market.
