No drop cloth needed: Designer’s Drip Collection combines color, whimsy, function

MIAMI — Pennsylvania-based furniture designer Ryan Twardzik has brought his Drip Collection, which features the contrasting forms of industrial metal and pooling paint, to Miami Design Week.
Debuting at Alcova Miami this week, Twardzik’s furniture offers the vibrant colors of Miami with a hint of early American painted furniture from Pennsylvania and the inspiration of post-war American art movements like Abstract Expressionism.
“The Drip Collection conveys the power of color and the importance of physicality, but combines this with a playful sensibility,” he said. “In an increasingly digital and virtual world, I’m excited to show real products that make a bold statement with their design and physicality.”
Twardzik founded Unform Studio in 2022 in Frackville, Pa. The Drip Collection, which includes the un4 Table, un5 Chair, un6 Stool and un7 Console Table, is made from powdered-coated aluminum and can be used indoors or outside.
Pieces are available in 20 custom colors, ranging from Snowcap White and Anthracite to lilac, canary yellow and sky blue. Prices for the made-to-order furniture start at $1,600 for the stool.
